"Year Zero" by Nine Inch Nails

Arguably, Trent Reznor [[vocals]] has always written amazing albums. Fom "Pretty Hate Machine" trough "With Teeth", NIN's wild creation has usually spinned around the falseness of the heart. "Year Zero", however, is more about the falseness of power and the negative reaction that follows. Set 15 years from now, the world is ruined as it spirals into social, ecological and spiritual breakdown. "Year Zero" has two roles as the voice of both the depression and the depressed. Are we doomed to fail? Or can we turn the tide and rise up agains madness? Either way it's good news for us as we're left facing a clear wall of madness, claustrophobia, paranoia, overdose and abuse - all ingriedents for a great NIN album. "Survivalism" and "God Given" are instant classics, the later replete with the most sarcastic "C'mon... Sing along... All together now..." you will ever hear. "Hyperpower!", "Vessel" and "The Great Destroyer" reveal the most chaotic sound NIN have handled since "Broken", and as the endless decay of "Another Version Of The Truth" erases reality to dust, it's left "Zero Sum" to provide album's one moment of potential salvation.

Ever heard of "Nightmare Before Christmas"? If you have that's great. If you haven't - not so great. This animated musical film is a legend [[came out in 1993]]. Basically it's about Halloween Town leader - Jack Skellington, who makes a visit to Christmas Town, and he gets obsessed with Christmas. So he comes back to Halloween Town and convinces all the Halloween Town residents to occupy Christmas Town! There's like loads of amazing shit happening next. It's really cute and I have to say the producer Tim Burton is freaking awesome and has really good way of expressing his ideas. The music is wonderful, the characters are uber-cute and funny...Watch it.. I know most of the people have different tastes but this is really good stuff...and I think most of you will enjoy watching this fantastic film.

You can watch it on youtube. There's 8 parts of film, but it's worth your time...it takes 83mins to watch it. All The Parts are under the cut, so you wouldn't have to open new window every time and could upload it quicker! Enjoy watching the movie and HUGE thanks to limeybabefliping2end.

The film will be re-released on October 19th 2007 with Real D projectors [[something with 3D xD]]. So don't think that this film is dead or whatever.

Interesting Facts:

  • blink-182 song "I Miss You" references to Nightmare Before Christmas:

  • "We can live like Jack and Sally if we want
Where you can always find me
And we'll have Halloween on Christmas
And in the night we'll wish this never ends"

  • Fans are guessing that Sally is inspired by Patchwork Girl Scraps from the Oz children's book series. Fans have also guessed that Jack closely matches Jack Pumpkin Head from the same series.

  • Pete Wentz of the Pop Rock band Fall Out Boy has tattoos of the characters and Halloween Town on his right arm.

  • Billy Martin of Good Charlotte, A Pop Punk Band, has numerous tattoos of the characters on his arms. Some of these include, Jack,Sally, Lock, Shock, and Barrel.

  • Davey Havok of AFI, has a Nightmare Before Christmas sleeve down his right arm.

  • Fall Out Boy,Marilyn Manson,Panic! at the Disco,Fiona Apple and She Wants Revenge, made cover versions of songs featured in the film. [[re-released film]]
